ROAD
MARKING EQUIPMENT FOR COLD SIGNALING
EGM-H-AF-XXXL
I - DESCRIPTION:
Self propelled machine
for painting traffic lines with cold paint automatic application
with glass beads by combined system, which demarcates continuous
and/or discontinuous lines of axis simultaneously, and line of
edges through the extension arm.
II- TECHNICAL FEATURES:
1. Structure of tubes
and sides of steel, electrically soldered, forming an
ensemble aimed to absorb common shocks during the work and the
vibrations caused by the motor.
2. Wheels, (four)
of 14" rim with tires of 7,35 and air chamber.
3. Diesel Engine,
with 38 HP,water cooled.
4. Hidraulic Transmission,
with variable displacement pump and two fixed displacement motors
coupled to the back wheels, allowing a better performance of the
motor in the execution of works of low speed.
***NOTE: Generally, the hydraulic transmission has a great advantage
over the mechanical type because it allows a constant speed regulation
in the leveled operation, either up or down. The oil flux is regulated
by a control stick, providing a uniform thickness of the paint.
Furthermore, it has an excellent performance in the painting of
airports where the width of the lines are about 90 cm. Also, a
low and constant speed is required.
5. Hydraulical Driven,
disk brakes by pedal at the front side and with handing parking
brake also at the front side.
6. Throttle Twist Grip,
which keeps the aimed rotation of the motor.
7. Direction,
with casing endless type and sector, which allows to keep the
perfect alignment of the equipment while on motion.
8. Electrical System,
of 12 volts with:
* battery 54 AH;
* starting 0,7 HP;
* headlights;
* back and front lanterns indicating the direction;
* break and back lights;
* indicator light;
* rotating alert signaler;
* horn.
9. Control Panel,
with all the instruments and controlling valves and regulations
assembled strategically, so that the worker can work more easily,
provided with the following instruments:
*
Ignition;
* Speedometer;
* Counter-Gyro;
* Hourmeter;
* Control sight for oil pressure;
* Motor latching and unlatching by lever indicating the battery
charge;
* Switches of headlights, arrows, horn and others;
* Compressor manometer;
* Pulverization pressure manometer;
* Pressure manometer of the paint tanks;
* Electronic programmer of cadencies.
10. Air Compressor,
of between 60 to 100 pcm, low pressure, 2 stages, motor latching
and unlatching by the lever at the left of the operator. An air
supply unit is coupled to the compressor with capacity for 15
liters, provided with a retention and safety valve.
11. Paint Tanks,
(2 tanks) pressurized with capacity for 215 liters each, carbon
steel built, with devices of safety, stirrers of pneumatic drive
with regulating rotation and blades that rub out the walls of
the tanks, stirring completely the paint herein, feeding two independent
tubing and allowing the painting to be done in two different colors
simultaneously.
12. Tanks Of Glass Beads:
* A tank with capacity for 150
kgs fixed on the top and in the back of the operators' seat with
proper outlets to make the three spreaders working.
* A case with capacity for 50 kgs that can be assembled on the
sides or back of the body, allowing the application of two types
of glass beads.
13. Solvent Tank,
with capacity for 5 liters coupled to the air system, which, by
means of pressure, actions the hoses and spray guns of paint,
allowing them to be cleaned.
14. Automatic Spray Guns,
three (3) of them provided with individual controlling valves,
air pressure regulators (pulverization and pressure of the paint),
inflexible hard metal interchangeable nozzles adequate to work
with glass beads emulsion paintes that paint lines from 10 to
30cm.
15. Spreader of Glass
Beads, three (3) of them with adjustable diffusers assembled
strategically in relation to the spray guns, allowing a constant
and uniform distribution of the glass beads over the paint being
applied at any speed operated by the machine.
16. Manual Spray Gun,
one (1) for the painting of signs, crosswalks and others; also
provided with inflexible hard metal interchangeable nozzles to
be worked with glass beads emulsion paint.
17. Paint Bases of spray
gun units:
* For painting of axis: assembled
in center of machine near operator seat, with 2 sets of guns.
* For painting of edges: side arm with 1 set of gun.
Both bases, are provided with pneumatic drive (up/down), rotating
wheels with air chamber for a better balance.
18. Guide, telescopic
bar with adjustable arrows indicating the lines, positioned
in such way that the worker can align precisely and easily the
sets of spray guns and spreaders previously marked.
19. Electronic Programmer of Cadencies, which controls
automatically the spray guns on the painting of the continuous
and discontinuous lines (traced), according to the pre-determined
(programmed) cadence. It also allows the cadence to be changed
without interrupting the works.
20. Canvas cap, under measure to protect the equipment
while not working.
21. Productivity:
Landing strip workers (*) 4
persons
Setup/Preparation of the equipment 15 minutes
Speed of the operation 5 km/h
Consumption of paint by m2 0,6 liters
Consumption of glass beads by m2 0,300 kg
Productivity over a full time working 2.400 m2
(*) Operators, markers and helpers.

III - GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS :
* The engineering of the components
used are strictly under the standards and patterns of the Technical
Rules Brazilian Association (ABNT); however, we can analyze the
possibility of building the equipment under the patterns of the
country in which it will be worked on.
* Modifications concerning the capacity or lay-out of the original
project can possibly be made, as long as with previous consultation
and further cost evaluation.
